TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Communication and Informatics Ministry sent a second warning letter to Facebook related to the users`data breach scandal, Tuesday, April 10. The letter was signed by the ministry`s Application and Informatics General Director Samuel Abrijani Pangerapan.
“Facebook as an electronic system operator is required to meet the standard stipulated in 2016 Ministerial Decree on personal data protection,” said Samuel in a written statement received by Tempo today.
The ministry demanded Facebook to provide confirmation and explanation of its users` personal data manipulation that used by the third party application as well as the result of its final audit.

According to Samuel, the audit report could be used to examine the impact of the massive data-stealing conducted by Facebook. “Including how the third party collected Facebook users’ personal data,” he explained.
Previously, Communication and Informatics Ministry has delivered the first warning notice on April 5, noting that Facebook should protect its users’ data and submit the report regarding its investigation plan to the third party.
Facebook has sent two official letters as a response to the three letters from the ministry which deemed insufficient and lack of data required.
The Minister Rudiantara has already affirmed that the government would surely shut down Facebook should the data breach scandal proved as a threat to the country.
