TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bank Indonesia [BI] Governor Agus Martowardojo said that the archival system of most regional administrations is in a dismal condition, especially following a proliferation of administrative regions.
“Except regional administrations that have long existed that may have theirs figured out,” said Agus Martowardojo in an event held at the BI headquarters today.
The same sentiment was shared by the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Asman Abnur, who said many regional administrations had downplayed their archiving system.

Asman said state institutions had lost many cases in court to private industries due to poor archiving.
“The documents are being searched once the problem arises. That is because of the sloppy archiving,” Asman said.
Armad explained this was the reason why the central government had paid special attention to archiving issues. He also expressed hopes that every level at government institutions would take this matter more seriously.
