American PH Interested to Remake `Pengabdi Setan`

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian movie directed by Joko Anwar, Pengabdi Setan (Satan`s Slave), received an unbelievable reception during its screening in Hong Kong.

It seems that the movie will go on a successful path after the film producer, Sunil Samtani, said that Pengabdi Setan has attracted a United States-based movie production house that intends to reproduce it.

“CJ Entertainment called me one time, they said that someone contacted [them to ask for permission] to remake  Pengabdi Setan movie. It was an American movie-production company but we don’t know what the company is,” said Sunil Thursday, April 5.

Furthermore, Sunil said that he would grant permission for the remake to happen with only one requirement; it cannot be too deviated from the original storyline and overall product.

“At least, the core story must not be changed, which is a family that was terrorized by a ghost resembling the mother,” said the Pengabdi Setan movie producer.
