Soekarno Hatta Sees 18.4 Percent Increase of Passengers on Easter

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Soekarno-Hatta Airport Management said there was an increase of passengers during the 2018 Easter holiday.

Soekarno-Hatta Airport Senior Manager of Branch Communication and Legal Erwin Revianto said the number of passengers reached 197,038 people at the peak of the 2018 Easter holiday that fell on Friday, March 30.

“Increase 18,4 percent compared to 2017 Easter holiday,” Erwin said in a written statement on Monday, April 2.

Erwin detailing, the number of passengers who arrived and departed on March 30 last year was 166,428 people.

The management noted a consistent increase occurred over the four days from March 29 to April 1. On March 29, it reached 217,856 passengers, increased from the previous year as 195,313.

Furthermore, on March 31, 2017, it reached 141,729, while in 2018 it was 165,233 passengers. On April 1, it reached 196,503 passengers, an increase from 1 April last year of 182,505 passengers.

“Compared to 2017, the total trend in this year's Easter holiday is 13,2 percent passengers,” Erwin said.

Erwin continued, the number of aircraft also increased 8,9 percent.

The international passengers who arrived also increased 14,7 percent on this Easter holiday. “The reverse flow activity occurred since Saturday, March 30,” said Erwin.
