Govt: 180 Flights to Board IMF-World Bank Meetings Delegates

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Transportation Ministry predicted that there will be 180 aircraft movements during the 2018 IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings on October 8-14 in Bali.
The ministry's Director General of Air Transportation Agus Santoso stated the total number of delegation could reach up to 18,000 people and one aircraft could board 200 passengers.
“That number of delegation is divided by the one flight capacity,” said Agus at the office of Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs in Jakarta today, April 3.

Based on the calculation, 90 aircraft are needed to accommodate the delegates. Thus for the arrival and departure, the total amounts to 180 aircraft.
Agus further explained, most of the aircraft will likely concentrate at a certain time. The peak flow is predicted to fall a day before and after the meeting.
Moreover, Agus went on, the aircraft movements could also take place several days prior to the meeting. The flights usually board the assistant or staff who welcoming the delegations.
“We will manage the aircraft flow by preparing several alternatives so that the comforts of the [2018 IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings] delegations is guaranteed,” said Agus.
