Jakarta Police Deploy 6,000 Personnel to Secure Easter Holiday

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Metro Police will deploy 6,000 personnel to maintain security during the Easter holiday that will fall on Friday, March 30, 2018.
“We will deploy personnel consisting from the Indonesian Military and the National Police,” Jakarta Metro Police spokesperson Sr. Commr. Argo Yuwono said at his office in South Jakarta on Thursday, March 29.
They will be stationed at several spots, such as churches, tourist destinations, and other crowded locations.
“Personnel to be assigned to secure churches will be from local precincts,” said Argo.
As for tourist destinations, Argo added, the police will deploy personnel at Ragunan, Ancol Beach, and Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII).
“We have tightened the security at Soekarno-Hatta Airport and Gambir Station,” he said.
Finally, the police will maintain at congested roads during long weekends.
