Aburizal Bakrie Says Golkar Targets 60 Percent of Young Voters

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Golkar’s Board of Trustees Chairman Aburizal Bakrie stated his meeting with the party’s Chairman Airlangga Hartarto and the central board [DPP] was discussing the effective strategy to win the 60 percent of young voters in the upcoming election.
“We are discussing our plan to win the election based on the young’s need,” said Aburizal Bakrie when met at Golkar DPP office, Tuesday, March 27.
Aburizal stated Golkar party has yet declared vice presidential candidate to be Jokowi’s running mate in the 2019 Presidential Election.
Airlangga also stated all senior members of the party will involve in the political campaign in the legislative election or presidential election next year.
“We are discussing our preparation to bring success for Pak Jokowi and the time we will start the dissemination,” said Airlangga.
Accompanied by Aburizal Bakrie, Airlangga did not further detail the strategy to be used by Golkar. He added the target is to gain 18 percent votings and 110 legislative seats in the House of Representatives (DPR) in the election ahead.
