TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Police Traffic Directorate has launched the Samsat Digital and non-cash payment in tandem with Bank DKI to facilitate Jakartans in paying their vehicle tax [PKB] and vehicle ownership transfer fee [BBN-KB].
“This breakthrough will help people pay their vehicle tax,” said Jakarta Police head Insp. Gen. Idham Aziz on Monday, March 26.
According to Idham, these services had been applied to the Samsat [Vehicle Document Registration Center] of South Jakarta. Idham said he hoped these services could be implemented nationwide. "We will conduct regular evaluation to find out tax payers' satisfaction in utilizing these services,” he said.
The steps required to use e-Samsat service are as follows:
- Taxpayers come to the Samsat office in South Jakarta
- Fill out the e-form registration via the computer provided at the office
- After filling out the form, taxpayers will get a queue number and wait for their turn to verify their data
- If the data prove correct, they need to pay their tax at a non-cash payment booth, or via the application JakOne Mobile Bank DKI
Bank DKI director Kresno Sediarsi explained JakOne Mobile was a payment service application comprising mobile banking and mobile wallet owned by city-owned lender Bank DKI. The application can be used as a means of payment via its scan-to-play feature.
To pay the vehicle tax through the application, taxpayers are required to download the JakOne Mobile app via Play Store or App Store and scan the QR code previously obtained from a non-cash payment booth at the Samsat office.
“The e-Samsat payment service is aimed at boosting regional income from the tax sector,” said Kresno.
