TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Grab Indonesia managing director Ridzki Kramadibrata promised that drivers will get more income after his company acquires Uber in Southeast Asia.
“The drivers will have higher incomes with more travel bookings,” Ridzki said in a written statement on Monday, March 26.

Grab announced the acquisition of Uber's business in Singapore this morning. Uber will submit transfer its business lines in Southeast Asia to Grab, including Uber Eats.
Uber and Grab will form a joint venture to control the business. However, Uber only controls 27.5 percent of the company's shares.
In addition to promising better welfare, Ridzki also ensured that the transfer of Uber drivers to Grab will run smoothly. He claimed that the open system in his company would allow seamless transfer of Uber drivers and integration of users.

With a larger number of drivers, Ridzki went on, demands on transportation will be met faster. He also ensured that the waiting time for passengers will be even shorter.
While visiting India in February, Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said the company remains committed to serving its customers in Southeast Asia despite being in a difficult situation. Uber declined to comment on the acquisition plan.
