TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State electricity company (PLN) to cut the electricity supply in six areas of Bali as to maintain the order during Hindu Day of Silence or Nyepi. Bali PLN General Manager I Nyoman Suwarjoni Astawa stated the power outage was requested by customary villages officials based on the agreement of local meetings.
The six areas that will experience the power outage starting Saturday until Sunday, March 17-18, include Nusa Penida island, Nusa Lembongan island, Nusa Ceningan island, Les village, Penuktukan village, and Tejakula village.

Suwarjoni asserted the blackout initially does not require during Nyepi, but his office will provide the service if the demand requested.
As for other areas, the power supply keeps distributing as usual. PLN officers, he added, are in standby mode to monitor any urgent or emergency matters.
Suwarjino stated during Nyepi Day, his officers will coordinate with Bali traditional guard (Pecalang) in advance to assure the power supply for the citizen.
