TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Garuda Indonesia and Wings Air will not serve flights on the route of Semarang (Central Java)-Denpasar (Bali) during Nyepi (Day of Silence), Saturday, March 17.
"The two airlines canceled the flights during Nyepi on March 17, as Ngurah Rai Airport closed at the same time," said state airport operator Angkasa Pura I official Agus Sina in his office on Wednesday, March 14.

Garuda, said Agus, canceled its GA-446 and GA-447 flights. Wings Air also did the same thing to its two flight schedules, namely the planes numbered 1802 and 1803.
He claimed the flight's cancellation has no significant impact on passengers in the airport. According to him, the number of passengers only decreased no more than five percent.

Furthermore, Agus has received reports from both airlines that they will not serve any special ticket sales during Nyepi.
"They do not sell tickets for that day, so we predict the increase in passengers during Nyepi is not more than 15,000 people," he said.
