Gerindra of West Java say that Prabowo is Not Merely a King-Maker

TEMPO.CO, Bandung - The entire regional Gerindra party officials in West Java declared their support for the party’s Chairman, Prabowo Subianto to run for the presidential candidacy in the 2019 presidential election.

“There are other ways for West Java, the Chairman must run for the candidacy of the 2019 presidential election,” said Mulyadi, West Java’s Gerindra chairman at the declaration event held at the Hotel Grand Preanger in Bandung on Wednesday, March 14.

According to Mulyadi, there are opinions trying to condition the public opinion into thinking that Prabowo Subianto is merely a king-maker.

“There is restlessness, a sense of, quote-unquote, a distrust that I think has been conditioned. The public opinion was shaped to be just that. Making people think that Prabowo is just a king-maker, the deputy of the incumbent, and so –on. We will not let anyone divert our spirit and willingness. West Java will pay our debts and take Prabowo as our presidential candidate,” said Mulyadi.

The declaration was attended by representatives of every West Java Gerindra Party branch members, party wing, and the party’s legislative members.

Gerindra regional party officials hope that their declaration will be considered by Gerindra’s central executive board (DPP) as the party’s official decision.

“We hope that Prabowo will agree to be submitted to the party’s official 2019 presidential candidate. I hope that the Gerindra Party DPP will consider this declaration as the party’s official decision,” said Mulyadi.
