Gerindra Members to Declare Support for Prabowo in 2019 Election

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As many as 34 Gerindra Party regional leadership council members (DPD) plan to declare their support for chairman Prabowo Subianto as the party`s presidential candidate in the 2019 election.
The declaration will be held during Gerindra Party’s 10-year anniversary that will be held simultaneously in every province on Sunday, March 11.

“The central executive board (DPP) truly appreciates the steps taken by regional council members,” said Gerindra Party secretary-general deputy Andre Rosiade. He said that this shows the determination of party members to support Prabowo in the 2019 presidential election.
Andre hopes that Prabowo would accept their support and declare himself to run in the 2019 presidential election. So far, Prabowo has yet declared his candidacy.

During the Gerindra anniversary event, Prabowo Subianto said that he would only run if there are aspirations from members of the public and not just based on poll results.
