He gave an example of cases regarding misused personal ID number (NIK) and family card (KK) number. He argued that the most important factor to avoid attacks on private security is the human factor itself, which often is the weakest link in issues regarding information security system.
The minister urged people to slowly build the habits that support personal data protection and make it a common practice within society. “We want people to view cybersecurity as a common practice,” said Rudiantara.
The public data protection is not exclusively the responsibility of the government. Public participation is essentially needed to reduce the number of crimes regarding private data breach.
