TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ministry has simplified its bureaucracy by deregulating 186 sectors and simplifying other subsectors such as certification, recommendation, and permits.
“There are 90 regulations and 96 certification, recommendation, and permits that were dropped,” said ESDM Minister Ignasius Jonan at his office on Monday, March 5.
Of the total number, 18 regulations and 23 certifications and permits of the oil and gas sector were dropped. Meanwhile, the electrification sector deregulated 20 regulations.
The coal and mineral sector experienced the most deregulation where 32 regulations and 64 certifications and permits were dropped. Other sectors in the ministry also received similar treatments.
Minister Ignasius Jonan said that simplifying bureaucracy corresponds with President Jokowi’s instruction to create an investment-friendly environment, which would boost job availability and economic growth.
