TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Transportation Ministry will provide Transjabodetabek Premium bus facility for Jakarta-Cikampek toll users due to the odd-even license plate policy. The facility will take effect starting on March 12, 2018.
"We will provide the bus specifically to those unable to use private vehicles during odd-even hours," said Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi at West Bekasi Toll Gate, on Monday, March 5.
The bus will be arranged from West Bekasi Toll Gate and East Bekasi. The departure point in West Bekasi Toll Gate is at Summarecon and Mega City while from East Bekasi will be at Bekasi Trade Center (BTC) and LRT City/Grand Dhika, respectively.
Transjabodetabek bus from West Bekasi will take routes through Kuningan, Blok M, Plaza Senayan, Podomoro City, Thamrin City, and SCBD. From East Bekasi, the routes served are Tebet, Sunter Mall, Kalideres, Grand Paragon GM, and Thamrin City. The bus fare is Rp20 thousand that will be available once every 10 minutes from 05:20 to 09:10 am.
Some parking spaces will also be provided for private vehicles. The parking rates are flat at Rp10 thousand. The parking space in West Bekasi will be at Summarecon and Mega City, while in East Bekasi will be at LRT/Grand Dhika, and BTC.
Budi Karya said the odd-even license plate policy will reduce congestion in Jakarta-Cikampek toll around 30-40 percent. But more importantly, according to Budi, the policy is to attract people using public transportation. "We would like to educate the public to further utilize public transportation," he said.
