TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Elek Yo Band, a music group consisting of state officials including Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, have been invited to perform at the 14th Jakarta International Java Jazz that will be held at the Jakarta International Expo on March 2-4.
During a press conference held in Jakarta on February 28, 2018, Java Jazz Festival Production Chairman Peter Gontha said Elek Yo Band is a prove that anyone can play music. Peter added the state officials must be appreciated for being able to play music amidst their busy schedule.

Elek Yo Band was founded by Manpower Minister Hanif Dakhiri, Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, Creative Economy Agency head Triawan Munaf, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, and Presidential Chief of Staff Teten Masduki.
BNI’s Director for Consumers and Retail Anggoro Eko Cahyo said Elek Yo Band is so unique that they must be invited to perform at the Java Jazz festival. After several meetings with the organizer, Elek Yo Band expressed their readiness to perform at Java Jazz Festival 2018.

"They are ministers who inspire young people," said Anggoro during a press conference at Hotel Borobudur, Jakarta, on Wednesday, February 28.
Elek Yo Band will have its first debut at Java Jazz Festival 2018. Earlier, the band performed at the wedding reception of State Secretary Pratikno’s daughter on January 30, 2018, in Yogyakarta.
