Phone Provider Offers Promo to Push Prepaid SIM Card Registration

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Communications and Informatics Ministry obliges to all prepaid SIM card users to re-register their numbers. The deadline is today, February 28.
Ahead of the deadline, operators compete to give bonuses to customers who register.
For example, Telkomsel which gives internet quota bonus to 10 gigabytes. It also gives 150 minutes call bonus and 75 SMS to all operators. The bonus is valid for three days at a price of Rp10.

In addition, based on the official Twitter account @IndosatCare, Indosat provides bonus quota of 250 megabytes, 250 minutes of phone call, and 250 free SMS to fellow Indosat users.
Minister of Communication and Information Rudiantara reminded people to register the day before the deadline.
Rudiantara said after the date, the blocking will be done gradually. As for the Internet, it is still can be used. “After February 28, the call and SMS services are blocked, except SMS for registration, so even if it is blocked, it still can do the registration,” he said.
Until Tuesday, the ministry said the number of users who have registered prepaid cards reached 285.1 million. The estimation, of about 300 million prepaid SIM card numbers, there are still about 14.9 million users who have not done the reregistration yet.
