TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - State-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II) operates the transit-oriented development (TOD) of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng, starting today, Monday, February 26. AP II Corporate Secretary Agus Haryadi stated AP II has increased motorcycle parking capacity as many as 4,000 units.

"We increased parking capacity for the motorcycle which was from 6,000 to 10 thousand units," said Agus while reviewing the Soekarno-Hatta Airport TOD. The expansion of TOD parking area, Agus added, is done by building a multistorey parking that can accommodate 4,000 vehicles more.

Agus claimed that the addition is based on the evaluation results during the new facility trial on February 16-26. "It turns out that the public has a large interest that when the trial, the parking area has been overloaded," said Agus.

Based on the number of vehicles parking this day, said Agus, it has reached 6200 units. Initially, the capacity was prepared only for 500 units, but it was continued to be expanded to accommodate 6,000 units by opening the land in front and side of the TOD building. "Now it’s (the parking area) full and less comfortable," said Agus.

TOD is a facility provided for workers and customers who enter Soekarno-Hatta Airport from Tangerang. This new access can also be an alternative to reach the Airport, Terminal 1, 2, and 3 and the Soekarno-Hatta Airport office area.

TOD is an area prepared for transferring passengers into Soekarno-Hatta Airport which is built on an area of 6000 hectares, consisting of three-storey building and parking area.

This building has toilet facilities, mushola (Islamic prayer room), ATM outlets, escalators, commercial area elevators, shuttle buses, as well as stations to pick up and board customer of Soekarno-Hatta Airport. The parking rate is Rp5000 for motorcycle unit per day.
