More than 250 Million Customers Registered Their Prepaid Card

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A total of 250.89 million cellular customers has registered prepaid cards per February 21, 2018. Communication and Informatics Ministry’s (Kemkominfo) post and informatics management director general Ahmad M. Ramli stressed several points to the public who use prepaid cell phone service before the end of prepaid card re-registration program.
"We remind the customers and public use NIK and KK data correctly. Using other’s data without the rights is prohibited and against the law," Ahmad said in a press release on Wednesday, February 21.
Customers who have yet registered their prepaid card are needed to follow the correct format. Had they experience any constraints related to citizen data then customers should contact the Population and Civil Registration Agency (Dukcapil) officials in their area.
The Prepaid Card Re-registration Program initiated by Kemkominfo has started from October 31, 2017, until February 28, 2018. The government will gradually block unregistered number after the program ends.
However, people can still register their prepaid card via SMS, website, or get registered directly in the respective operator outlets. While customers with an active prepaid card can easily send SMS to 4444 to register a prepaid card.
