TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator Novel Baswedan arrived at KPK building in South Jakarta, Thursday, February 22, at around 13:10 pm.
He is grateful to be back to the KPK. "Alhamdulillah, I’m back," said Novel. He said the attack will not weaken him. "But it's an encouragement to me."
After 10 months in Singapore undergoing eye treatment due to the acid water splashed by strangers, Novel returned to Indonesia. Novel's arrival was warmly welcomed by people, institutions, anti-corruption monitors, and his colleagues at the KPK.

The KPK installed banners, stage, and even standing flower to welcoming Novel Baswedan's arrival. All KPK employees were wearing white shirts. The KPK Former Chairman Abraham Samad, KPK leaders, and other KPK employees came specifically to greet Novel.
The KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said the KPK happily welcomed Novel regardless of all attacks against the KPK's senior investigator. "We welcome Novel with joy to show that corruption eradication will never go down despite being attacked," he stated.
Novel was splashed with acid water while walking home after took a prayer at a mosque near his home in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, at dawn. The police have yet arrested the two suspects despite having released their face sketches on November 24, 2017.
Novel Baswedan has revealed major cases that caught many state officials including Bank Indonesia Deputy Senior Miranda Goeltom in 2004; Bank Jabar corruption (2009); bribery case of former regent Buol, Central Sulawesi, Amran Batalipu (2011); corruption case of Korlantas Polri on driving license simulator project (2012); bribery case of Former Constitutional Court chief justice Akil Mochtar (2013); and the mega corruption of electronic identity card (e-KTP) project (2014).
