Anies Baswedan Comments on Paspampres Interception in GBK

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan responded to a viral video that showed he was intercepted by Presidential Security Force (Paspampres) when following President Jokowi to the GBK podium. According to Anies, his position at that time was not important.

“How was it look like? What important is Persija won,” said Anies Baswedan at Jakarta City Hall on Sunday, February 18.

It went viral on social media. It showed Anies who wanted to go down to the podium to congratulate the Persija players with President Jokowi, suddenly intercepted by Paspampres.

On the video, Anies was wearing an orange shirt of Persija. President Jokowi was escorted by the black-tied presidential security forces.

President Jokowi went down from his VVIP seat to the podium to congratulate Persija Jakarta team as they managed to become champion in the Presidential Cup. Anies Baswedan followed behind, suddenly the Paspampres stopped Anies and whispered something. Finally, he returned to his seat.
