TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Online Taxi Driver Alliance (Aliando) will hold a peaceful rally in front of the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 14. Aliando Coordinator Adi said they demand the government to revoke the Minister of Transportation Decree No. 108/2017 (Permenhub 108) on People’s Transportation with Non-Route Public Vehicle.
“It’s a peaceful rally. No anarchy whatsoever,” said Adi. He explained that 25,000 online transportation drivers have registered to participate.
It is scheduled to take place at 11:00 am. According to Adi, those who follow the rally came from various cities, namely Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi, Bandung, East Java, Yogyakarta, Central Java, Palembang, Medan, and Makassar.
Adi claimed, the rally will not represent online transport companies, such as Go-Jek, Grab Car, and Uber.
The government enacted Permenhub 108 for online transportation since February 1. It managed the nine matters concerning the operation of online taxis. Such as taximeter, tariff, vehicle requirement quota, operating area, a minimum requirement of five vehicles, proof of ownership, the domicile of vehicle number (TNKB), enclose a copy of vehicle registration test certificate (SRUT), and the role's applicator.
Therefore, the online taxi drivers need to meet the four conditions. Such as the vehicles must have TNKB, the vehicle must attach SRUT, perform KIR test, and install special stickers on the vehicle.
