3 `Instagramable` Sand Islands

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Sand island only contains sand dune and sandbar. However, it apparently remains attractive for tourists to visit and enjoy. Of all the number of tourist destinations that are loved the most, such as Labuan Bajo, Lombok, and Belitung, the sand island becomes one of the lists that often to be visited

Here are the top three:

1. Sand Island, Belitung

If you are sailing from Tanjung Kelayang Beach, Tanjungpandan, Belitung to some islands with beautiful stone rows, Sand Island is one of the worthy destinations. It could even be your first choice.

If you are lucky enough, when the water is receding, sand dune will appear.

The sand dune is quite small, but most boats will stop by. Interestingly, the sea stars here are quite numerous. Most tourists just go down to take pictures and then continue to another island.

2. Gili Pasir, East Lombok

When high tide comes, the area of Gili Pasir in East Lombok will be reduced, it could even be lost. The sand sometimes forms a unique pattern, which will be interesting to be taken picture with.

The island is surrounded with blue Tosca waters. The sand is really smooth, it even felt comfy if you sit on it or just lying on the sand to get a tan. Sea stars are scattered on the island.

The location of Gili Pasir is in Tanjung Luar Village, Keruak Subdistrict, East Lombok. Usually, this place becomes a stopover while on the way to the Pink Beach.

3. Taka Makassar, Labuan Bajo

On the cruise at Labuan Bajo, especially on the way to Komodo Island, there is also a sandbar you could visit. It is called the Taka Makassar Island.

To reach it, you have to use small boat because most Phinisi boats cannot be anchored near this sand island.

The shape of it is oval and there are few plants scattered around. Tourists love to swim in its clear waters and take pictures at the white sand.
