TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Setya Novanto, defendant of the electronic identity card (e-KTP) corruption case, claimed to had never received any report of the e-KTP project from Golkar Party cadres, which the member of Commission II House of Representatives (DPR).
According to Setya, the Chairman Faction served as a facilitator in terms of the DPR member appointment. The project discussion of the budget is done in Commission II as the government partner which then brought to the DPR budget agency (banggar). "The final decision cannot be determined only by the vote of one faction," stated Setya.

Setya’s statement contraries to the former Chairman of DPR Commission II Agun Gunandjar Sudarsa, Agun stated that Setya had never asked the report of the e-KTP project.
However, when he was still in Commission II, Agun took the initiative to report, either the implementation or the budget of the e-KTP project.
In fact, Setya appreciated the Commission II because they became more effective and productive. Setya also said to the Commission II to not interfere with the e-KTP project.

Previously, Central Java Governor and former Deputy Chairman of Commission II explained, usually, the members of the House, including the Commission II, will submit a report to the chairman of the faction. The report is in the form of progress of the program that is discussed by relevant commissions.
According to Ganjar, there are work reports of DPR commission that can or should not be submitted to Setya as chairman of the faction. However, there are also regularly reported program, depending on the level of the importance.
