TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, on Sunday, February 11, received an award as the Best Minister in the World by Dubai's leader Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum at the World Government Summit event in Dubai, UAE.
On her Instagram, @smindrawati, she told about the award which is given annually to one elected person since 2016.
“I dedicate this award to the government under the leadership of President Joko Widodo and 257 million Indonesian people and 78,164 staffs of the Ministry of Finance who have worked hard to manage the state finances with integrity and high commitment towards a nation with dignity, fairness, and prosperity,” she said.
It is a global award which is given to one minister from every country in the world every year.
The selection and determination process of the winners is conducted by the independent agency Ernst & Young and organized by the World Government Summit.
Sri Mulyani said the award was given for her efforts to reform the Ministry of Finance.
According to Sri Mulyani, the World Government Summit is an annual meeting in Dubai, UAE, engages all government leaders from around the world in a global dialogue forum on governance and public policy processes and their links to technology, innovation, and other topics.
