TEMPO.CO, Bandung - Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) stated that government considers having school breaks in Jakarta during 2018 Asian Games in order to facilitate athlete transport from the dorm to the venue Gelora Bung Karno Stadium and vice versa.
JK explained that such consideration is based on the fact that during trial tournaments started on February 8, it took longer to reach the venue.
“The target is 35 minutes, but it turned out to be longer. So, we are still weighing our options including whether to get school breaks for some schools that are in the athlete travel route,” JK said in Jakarta on Saturday (10/2).
This idea to use school and office breaks during the event was brought up by the House of Representatives’ Commission X deputy chief Ferdiansyah. This idea is also supported by Youth and Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi.
