TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After the Soekarno-Hatta airport train stopped its operation due to the landslide that collapsed an underpass tunnel wall beneath its railway, the technical team from state-owned railway operator KAI conducted a test run yesterday to prepare its operation again.
“The result of the test run and technical studies by an independent consultant today suggested that this railway can already be used by the airport train that will be fully operational again tonight,” said Railink President Director Heru Kuswanto on Thursday, February 8.

The test run concluded that the railway can be passed by the airport train with a limited speed throughout the 100-meter of the railway near the locations where the landslide took place.
The airport train was made operational again since Thursday evening at 07:51 pm for the trip from the Sudirman Baru Station to the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Station. Meanwhile, the journey back from the airport to Sudirman Station commenced at 08:40 pm.
The landslide on Monday, February 5, collapsed a retaining wall close to the railway’s tunnel bridge. The collapsed wall crushed a vehicle that was passing by, which unfortunately injured one person and killed another person in the car.
