TEMPO.CO, Singapore - State airline Garuda Indonesia achieved the Five-star Airlines predicate from Skytrax for the third time. The certificate was given at the Singapore Airshow 2018.
President Director of Garuda Indonesia Pahala Nugraha said that SkyTrax Airline Rating System is one of the important instruments to measure the service quality improvement.
The predicate made Garuda Indonesia equivalent to other international airlines such as Etihad or Qatar Airways.

Skytrax Chief Executive Officer Edward Plaisted said that hospitality is the key. “Garuda can maintain their service standard and be consistent with it,” said Plaisted.
Skytrax is an independent global aviation rating agency based in the UK. One of the assessment points include the service components, namely the airport passenger service, the waiting room quality, cabin comfort, dish and entertainment on board, also cabin crew service.
Currently, there are only 10 airlines with the Five-star predicate, namely Garuda Indonesia, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, EVA Air, Qatar Airways, Etihad, Asiana Airline, All Nippon Airlines, Hainan Airlines, and Lufthansa.
