Tempo News: Founders of Tempo, Gramedia Receive Press Awards

TEMPO.CO, Padang - The Central Committee of National Press Day (HPN) 2018 will give the Lifetime Devotion Award in the Press Field to the three Indonesian media figures. Namely, two founders of Tempo News Magazine: Fikri Jufri (81), Harjoko Trisnadi (87), founder of Gramedia printing (Kompas Gramedia) and the executive director of Serikat Grafika Pers (SGP) Bernard Soedarmara, (80).
“The award will be given in front of President Joko Widodo at the HPN 2018 anniversary, February 9 in Padang,” said Margiono, HPN Person in charge, after the HPN meeting preparation last week in Jakarta.
He said the award will be given by the national press community to honor and respect the three media figures that still devote their selves in the press media.
Born in Jakarta, March 25, 1936, Fikri Jufri is a senior journalist who co-founded Tempo News magazine with Goenawan Mohamad, and several other journalists, including Harjoko Trisnadi.
Harjoko, born in Demak, June 22, 1930. Since young, he has been working as a journalist. He had been the editor of Star Weekly Magazine, who was reared by veteran journalist PK Oyong, one of the Kompas newspaper founders.
Born in Solo, January 3, 1937, Bernard Soedarmara is one of the top executives of Indonesian printing and graphics. He also began his career as a journalist in Kompas newspaper in 1968. Two years after that he was sent by Kompas to learn about printing in the Netherlands and Sweden.
