TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry has removed 32 regulations in the energy sector, in a bid to support investments.
"As the president instructed, we aim to push investments and economic growth as well as better job creations,” Energy Minister Ignasius Jonan said in Jakarta, Monday.
Jonan added that trimming licenses are expected to encourage businesses and investments.
The removed regulations include, among others, those of the oil and gas sub-sector, coal and mineral mining, as well as electricity. There are also regulations in the new renewable energy sub-sector as well as derivative rules at the SKK Migas that were revoked.
Of the 32 regulations that were eliminated, Jonan said that 11 of them are from the oil and gas sector.
Jonan said that the government will continue to simplify regulations.
“In a week or two we may eliminate more [regulations] so that business activities in the energy and mineral resources industry will continue to improve,” he said.
