Jokowi: Muslims Suffer The Most from Conflicts, Terrorism

TEMPO.CO, Islamabad - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi stated that conflict and war do not benefit anyone. He claimed that women and children always suffer the most including millions of young generation losing their future hope.
“The highest number of casualties from conflicts, war and terrorism is Muslims,” Jokowi delivered in his speech in front of National Assembly of Pakistan on Friday, Jan. 26.
Jokowi explained 76 percent terrorist attacks took place in countries with Muslims of the dominant population, 60 percent armed conflicts took place in countries with Muslims as the majority population and 67 percent refugees originated from countries with Muslims as the majority population.

“Millions of our brothers and sisters were driven away from their countries to seek a better life,” he said.
Therefore, Jokowi continued, Indonesia attempts to create an ecosystem of peace, stability and welfare in Indo-Pacific regions.
Jokowi stated that war and conflict destroy values of humanity and that of humanities conferred by Allah. Thereby, he is committed that Indonesia will play an active part to maintain world peace. “Just as Pakistan, Indonesia is one of the greatest contributors to world peace corps,” he said.
