TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Law and Human Rights Minister Yasonna Laoly said that the government had not decided yet on the stewardship endorsement of the Hanura Party, which is now plagued by internal conflicts.
According to Yasonna Laoly, the government chose to ask all Hanura Party officials to resolve the conflict together so that the dualism of leadership did not occur. "I just ask both sides to sit together," Yasona said on Sunday, January 21.
Yasonna said the ministry had received a request for the issuance of a party management decree from the "Ambhara" group, a term for the side of Syarifuddin Sudding that held meeting frequently at the Ambhara Hotel Jakarta. The faction held an extraordinary national deliberation (Munaslub) on Thursday last week. They deposed Oesman Sapta Odang as the Hanura Party Chairman and replaced him with Daryatmo who previously served as Deputy Chairman of the Hanura Party.
The split within Hanura's internal sphere came after Oesman Sapta Oedang and Syariufuddin Suding-Secretary-General of the Hanura Party deposed each other. OSO, Oesman’s nickname, he fired Suding and six chairmen of the Hanura Party's Regional Leadership Council for allegedly creating polemics within the party. The OSO group was called the "Manhattan", referring to the hotel where they often held meetings lately.
Sudding claimed to have the support of 418 branch councils to deploy Munaslub with the main agenda of OSO removal. In Munaslub, the Sudding side accused OSO of wiping out party money of up to Rp200 billion in his private securities firm.
Yasonna urges Wiranto to intervene to establish communication. Yasonna will attempt to communicate with OSO and I Gede Pasek, Hanura deputy chairman of the Manhattan side. "Find a settlement, because the dispute will harm Hanura as a political party," said Yasonna.
According to Yasonna, the government has indeed issued a letter approving the new structure of the Hanura Party's management which was signed on 17 January. In the letter, the OSO camp has removed Sudding from the position of Hanura Party Secretary-General and replaced by Herry Lontung. "The last decree was in the framework of certainty, in order to participate in the verification of political parties. Because, OSO cannot sign the letter without the Secretary-General, "he said.
According to Tridianto, this leadership dualism will soon be resolved by OSO and Wiranto to rescue the party ahead of the 2018 regional head election. "I read it, he (Wiranto) is not in a position to support the implementation of the Munaslub". Sudding said otherwise. "Ambhara" side performs Munaslub based on the wishes of 418 branch councils and Wiranto.
Wiranto denies favoring to one of the sides in the internal polemic of the Hanura Party. He also said that he was disappointed by the amount of information and news that seemed to be positioning himself with OSO. According to him, the Board of Trustees of Hanura Party is obliged to become the communication bridge between the two sides. "I will finish it later. But I will not release it to the public, "said Wiranto.
