KPAI Takes in Reports for Children with Gadget Addiction

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) offers services to handle children suffering from gadget addiction, KPAI commissioner of Pornography and Cyber Crime Margaret Aliyatul Maimunah stated.
"If a child is indicated to suffer from gadget addiction, please report it to KPAI," Margaret said in Jakarta on Friday, Jan. 19.

She further urged parents in Indonesia to remain alert of addiction behavior in the use of gadgets.
"We are convinced that a lot of children suffer from gadget addiction, but parents fail to notice the changes and not even realize that such an addiction is a mental disorder," she explained.
Margaret revealed two cases of children suffering from gadget addiction in Bondowoso, East Java, who showed extreme anger by smashing objects or hurting themselves when they were asked to hand in their mobile phones to point out the severity of this mental disorder.
