TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo will inaugurate Secretary-General of Golkar Party Idrus Marham to be the Social Minister on Wednesday, January 17. The reshuffle volume III occurred after Khofifah Indar Parawansa resigned because of the 2018 election in East Java.

The news of Idrus Marham step into the cabinet is confirmed by him as the Golkar cadre from Makassar. "Just been notified, thank you for the prayer," said Idrus Marham when contacted by Tempo on Wednesday morning, January 17.

With Idrus's entry, Golkar's ration in Jokowi's Cabinet becomes three seats. The other two ministerial positions are held by Airlangga Hartarto the Industry Minister, he is the Chairman of the Golkar Party, and Coordinating Minister for the Ministry of Marine Affairs Luhut B Pandjaitan.

Golkar, which during the 2014 Presidential Election is in Prabowo Subiyanto's stronghold, becomes closer with Jokowi after the 2016 Congress. Even he was elected as chairman, Airlangga immediately announced his support for Jokowi in the 2019 presidential election.
"Golkar has supported President Jokowi since he runs for the presidential election," Airlangga said.

Idrus Marham, 55 years old, from South Sulawesi. After resigning as a member of the People’s Representative Council of period 2009-2014 in June 2011, until now Idrus served as Golkar Secretary-General.

According to Idrus, he does not know whether to be inaugurated along with a number of new officials, such as the Air Force Chief of Staff (KSAU), Chief of Staff of the Presidency, and Presidential Advisory Council. "All I know is only my inauguration (and) KSAU, I do not know about the others yet."

Idrus Marham's name as a candidate for Social Minister was circulating on the last day of the Golkar General Assembly (Munaslub) on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. In the Golkar draft letter decision obtained by Tempo, Idrus Marham’s name was prepared to replace Khofifah.
At that time, Idrus expressed his readiness to be the Social Minister. "This is, despite the cliche answer, but since 2009, this is my answer," he said at the Golkar Central Executive Board office on Tuesday, December 26, 2017.

Idrus Marham, a Doctor of Political Science graduated from Gadjah Mada University (UGM), has been in politics since elected to the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) in 1997. After that, through Golkar Party, he was elected as a Member of Parliament for three consecutive periods, 1999-2004, 2004-2009, and 2009-2014 from the Electoral District of South Sulawesi III.

In June 2011, Idrus Marham resigned from the People’s Representatives Council on the grounds that he wanted to focus on working for the party ahead of the 2014 election.
Besides the Social Ministry’s position, another info received by Tempo is the replacement for the position of the Chief Staff Office of the President. Teten Masduki, who has been dragged into the reshuffle issues several times, he will be replaced by former Commander-in-Chief of the Army (General) Moeldoko.

The last position to be announced in conjunction with Reshuffle Volume III is a member of the Presidential Advisory Council. Again, the name of the military who reportedly will be appointed by President Joko Widodo, it is Agum Gumelar. Agum Gumelar allegedly will replace Hasyim Muzadi in Wantimpres.
