Victims of IDX Floor Collapse Undergo Surgery

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As many as 12 college students from Universitas Bina Darma in Palembang, South Sumatra, will undergo surgery at the Siloam Hospital in Semanggi. They suffer injuries at the collapsed flood incident in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) building yesterday, January 15.

“Six of them received surgery treatment, meanwhile the other six will soon follow,” said Triana Tambunan, Head of Siloam Hospital Business Development on Tuesday, January 16.

However, another student will undergo surgery based on a doctor’s suggestion. This adds to the list of victims undergoing surgery to 13 people, from the total of 28 that are being treated there.

Triana revealed that there is one victim with the most severe condition. “An emergency surgery needed to be done due to a severe bleeding," said Triana.

Meanwhile, most of the victims sustained injuries, broken bones, and injuries to their head. “[The victims] sustained numerous fracture injuries from pelvic, spinal, hip, hands, and foot. It is various,” she said.

Based on Tempo’s observation at the hospital, seven patients were allowed to return home, namely:

2. Nina Meidania, (31)

3. Fredicia Setjodinata, (21)

4. Tetty R. Siahaan, (50)

5. Alvita, (20)

6. Bunga Febi, (20)

7. Robby Mediansyah Putra, (20)

Triana said that the administration of victims with no health insurance is covered by IDX, health agency, and workers social security insurance (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan).
