Anies Baswedan Reveals Meeting with Yuzawa Mayor

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan welcomed Japan`s Yuzawa Mayor, Masayuki Tamura, at the City Hall, Thursday, January 11. During the meeting, Tamura offers cooperation in the tourism sector.

"So the core of the discussion was expecting the growth of tourism exchange from tourists visiting Yuzawa and tourists visiting Jakarta," said Anies.

Yuzawa is a city in Tokyo, Japan. As many as 440,000 tourists visited the city with around 8,000 residents each year. Yuzawa's main attraction is a nature tourism, which is skiing.

"His explanation is well received and I said that we want tourist centers in Japan can participate to convey messages on tourism in Jakarta," said Anies.

Tamura thanks for the warm welcome from Anies Baswedan. He hopes this meeting will continue the tourism and cultural cooperation.

"I hope from today we will be 'match' and both (Jakarta-Yuzawa) will talk to each other about future, not just tourism. We learn from each other's cultures and many things," Yuzawa Mayor Tamura said through his translator.
