TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Director Livi Zheng has shot a film to be used for a campaign to support the country's bid to be a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

"As an Indonesian, it is an honor to produce this film," Zheng noted in a press release received by Antara on Monday.

The filming of the "Indonesia: A True Partner for World Peace" took place at three different locations in two countries: Jakarta and Sentul in Indonesia as well as New York in the United States.

The film, in which Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi has made an appearance, showcases the country's contributions and experiences in the UN Peacekeeping Operations.

In addition to featuring 850 Indonesian soldiers of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon as well as 309 personnel of the civil-military coordination task force and Force Protection Bureau, the film involves other UNIFIL support units, such as the Military Police Unit and Force Headquarters Support Unit.

"We use widescreen shooting techniques to deliver a message that Indonesia is ready to become a non-permanent member of the UNSC," the East Java-born female director (Livi Zheng) stated. Indonesian soldiers deployed for peacekeeping missions have been highlighted as one of the country's diplomatic assets for Indonesia's candidacy as a non-permanent member of the UNSC for the 2019-2020 period.
