TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) plans to provide Wi-Fi network in every train it operates. The Wi-Fi will be available in all types of trains, both long-distance trains and electric trains (KRL).
"Wi-Fi has become a necessity, every passenger has mobile phones these days," KAI president director Edi Sukmoro said in Jakarta, Tuesday, January 9.

Edi said he has set a target associated with the procurement of this facility, but said that it will be realized gradually.
"This year, we have to have Wi-Fi. However, we still need to have discussions. Regarding which trains will have it first, it depends on which ones are ready," he added.
Edi said KAI is still discussing the budget to prepare.
To date, Edi said, some stations already provide Wi-Fi access for passengers. Among them are the Sudirman Station and Gambir Station.
