Dead Baby Body Found in Plane Toilet, Suspected as Abortion Case

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A woman named Hani (37) was alleged dumpinh a baby’s dead body in a toilet wastebasket of Etihad plane EY474 flying to Jakarta from Abu Dhabi with a transit in Bangkok, Thailand, on Saturday (6/1). Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police chief Sr. Comr. Ahmad Yusep Gunawan, received a report of the dead baby’s body at around 5:45 p.m.
"A cleaning service officer found the body. The witness saw a baby in a wastebasket of the toilet," Yusep said on Saturday (6/1).
From the witness’s testimony, Hani was alleged to commit abortion and dumped her baby in the toilet. Based on information from the plane crew, he continued, Hani complained she had pain on her stomach and she had a bleeding when the plane transited in Bangkok, Thailand.
After hearing the complaint, the crew suggested her to get treatment in Bangkok, but she refused and decided to continue her flight to Jakarta.
Hani is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bangkok. In addition, Angkasa Pura 2, Etihad airline and Health Agency have coordinated in regards to her condition in Bangkok.
"We will take legal measures after Hani arrives in Jakarta," he said.
