TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A dead baby boy wrapped in plastic bag was found in the drawer of the toilet in Etihad plane with the route Abu Dhabi-Jakarta when it landed in Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten, on Saturday (6/1).
"It’s a baby boy, with umbilical cord still intact. It is estimated that he was not born prematurely," Soekarno-Hatta health center headDr.Benget Turnip said on Saturday (6/1).
Benget revealed that the 3400-gram and 48-centimeter-tall baby was found in the toilet of EY 474 plane taking off from Abu Dhabi, having a transit in Bangkok, and arriving in Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Saturday at 5 p.m.
The dead body was found by a cleaning service officer 15 minutes after the plane landed. The baby had putrid odor when it was found.
Based on temporary information, Benget continued, the mother probably got off in Bangkok.
At the moment, Benget explained, the case is investigated by Soekarno-Hatta Police."Health officers are coordinating with the police and the body will be brought for autopsy to Kramat Jati Police Hospital," Benget added.
