TEMPO.CO, Manado - Manado has seen a growing number of coffee shops in the past few years, particularly since the establishment of a boulevard and business district Gunung Mas where young people hang out.
Here are three recommended places to find coffee shops in Manado:
Jarod Coffee Shops
There is a small alley named Jalan Roda, also known as Jarod, located 500 meters away from Manado’s Zero Point.
Small coffee shops can be found across the alley. They also offer fried banana with ‘roa’ sauce. Business hours start from 7 am to midnight.
The coffee available in the stalls came from Kotamobagu, planted on Mount Ambang at the heights of 600-2,200 meters above the sea level. Kotamobagu coffee is part of Arabica coffee. Most of Manado people enjoy the coffee with condensed milk.
A cup of coffee is priced at Rp6,000 and 20 fried bananas are available at Rp10,000.

Billy Coffee House
The small cafe is 5 years old and located on Jalan Sam Ratulangi, Manado. The visitors are typically in their 20s or 30s.
Just like Jarod coffee shops, the cafe offers Kotamobagu that has its unique taste and falvor. A cup of coffee is priced at Rp9,000 and is typically available with fried goroho bananas at Rp20,000 or cakalang noodle at Rp18,000.

Lake Linouw Coffee
Lake Linouw in Tomohon is home to a restaurant that offers Kotamobagu coffee and fried goroho bananas. The fancy stall has no name but people call it Lake Linouw Cafe or Lake Linouw Coffee.
The owner, also a religious activist, manage both the restaurant and the lake. Visitors only need to pay Rp25,000 to enter the tourist attraction and they will also get a cup of Kotamobagu coffee.
