TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry is targeting investments in the clean energy sector to reach Rp32 trillion this year. The value is almost twice as much as last year's actualized investment of Rp17.6 trillion.
The Energy and Mineral Resources Energy's director general of renewable energy and energy conservation Rida Mulyana said the target will be supported by a number of plans, especially those in the geothermal sector.
"There are projects that can be realized next year, so we set a rather high target," she said in Jakarta yesterday.
About half of the investment target will come from the geothermal sector. It is estimated that all geothermal spending will amount to Rp16.3 trillion, mostly for the construction of 5 geothermal power plants worth Rp13.5 trillion.
Another investment activity is in the form of geothermal exploration, which may reach up to Rp2.83 trillion this year.
Other energy projects include wind farm development and solar power plants.
