90,000 Vehicles Return to Jakarta as New Year Holiday Ends

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - New Year holiday traffic reaches its peak today, January 2. State-owned toll road operator PT Jasa Marga said in a press statement that 96,000 vehicles are returning to Jakarta via Cikarang Utama toll gate.
The number of vehicles increases by 37 percent compared to the average daily traffic at 70,000 vehicles. Meanwhile, as many as 66,689 vehicles have left Jakarta via Cikarang Utama toll gate, representing a 6 percent decrease compared to the average daily traffic of 71,000 vehicles.

More vehicles are expected to return to Jakarta up until the afternoon. Jasa Marga earlier predicted that 104,000 vehicles would be entering the capital city during peak holiday traffic.
Jasa Marga asks road users returning to Jakarta today after New Year holiday to ensure that their vehicles are in good condition and roadworthy.
