TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State power company PLN will operate new diesel engine power plants (PLTD) in Natuna Regency. The plants have a combined capacity of 23.5 MW.
"PLN is ready to operate 23 new power plants," PLN regional director for Sumatra, Wiluyo Kusdwiharto, said in a written statement, Sunday, December 24.

Wiluyo said the diesel engines will be placed in eight islands if Natuna Regency.
"Laut Island, Subi Island, Midai Island, Serasan Island, Sedanau Island, Tiga Sabang Mawang Island, Tiga Tanjung Kumbik Island, Natuna Lampa Strait Island, and Klarik Island," he said.
Wiluyo said the power plants will be ready to operate at the end of 2017. He added that the additional power supply is aimed at attracting investors to Natuna.
