Tangerang Police Ensure No Raids from Ormas During Christmas

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tangerang Police Chief Sr. Comr. Harry Kurniawan confirmed that there will be no mass organizations (ormas) carrying out raids during Christmas and 2018 New Year.
He said that the police have disseminated this prohibition and coordinated with related institutions including municipality administration and Indonesia National Military (TNI) to maintain security.
"Tangerang Police will take strict actions to handle thuggery. We will do our best to maintain security in Tangerang," he said.
The police, he explained, have also communicated with church caretakers and checked the security of the churches to ensure that people can worship without any disturbance for Christmas celebration on December 25.
He went on that the police will also deploy personnel at churches to maintain security.
