TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and First Lady Iriana arrived at Istanbul Atatürk Airport in Istanbul Turkey on Tuesday, December 12, at 9:54 local time.
President Jokowi and his entourage were welcomed by the Indonesian Ambassador to Turkey Wardana, among others.
Also present were the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto, State Secretary Minister Pratikno and Presidential chief of staff Johan Budi SP.
Jokowi will attend today the extraordinary Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit on Palestine.
“It will be the very first opportunity for OIC member states to collectively and firmly reject President Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital,” the President address a press conference at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta.
At the OCI Summit in Turkey, the President will convey Indonesian people’s opposition to the United States’ decision.
“[I will be] asking the OIC member states to unite to defend Palestine and declare the steps to be taken both jointly and severally to defend Palestine,” President Jokowi said.
