TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Communication and Informatics Minister Rudiantara has warned of fraud schemes on the National Online Shopping Days (Harbolnas) that started on December 12.
“Companies have to improve their management,” Rudiantara said yesterday in Jakarta.
Rudiantara said that criminals may take advantage of the event by making fictitious offers. “Meaning that individuals who may join the event and offer things that are never sent to buyers,” he said.
Rudiantara said that e-commerce companies must tighten security by only allowing trusted sellers. “Don’t let anyone take advantage of the occasion,” he said.
Harbolnas was initiated in 2012 by Lazada Indonesia, Zalora, Blanja, PinkEmma, Berrybenka and Bukalapak. This year’s edition will see over 200 e-commerce companies participating with an aim to develop small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
A number of e-commerce companies such as Tokopedia, Lazada, Shopee, etc., are offering various sales promotions from discounts to free shipping to cash back to free vouchers for grand prizes.
Harbolnas is started today, December 12, at 12 am Jakarta time.
