TEMPO.CO, Banda Aceh - Kyrgyzstan successfully defeated Indonesia’s national football team with a 1-0 score in the match that was held at Harapan Bangsa Stadium on
Wednesday, December 6.
Kyrgyzstan’s single goal was scored by Saliev Askarbek at the 20th minute but was enough to ensure them to win the Aceh World Solidarity Tsunami Cup tournament.
Players from both teams were visibly competitive fast-paced since the start of the match. Both teams showed equal ball possessions, although the muddy field, unfortunately, affected both team player’s performances.
At the 20th minute, Kyrgyzstan’s midfielder Saliev Askarbek successfully scored a goal through his hard kick within the penalty box which wasn’t able to be blocked by goalie Andritany.
The Indonesian team had an opportunity to score at the 29th minute after the referee gifted a free kick outside of the penalty box. The penalty kick was executed by Hargianto, though he, unfortunately, failed to score until the end of the first-half.
During the second-half, Indonesian coach Luis Milla replaced several players and sent Saddil Ramdani and Ilija Spasojevic to the field. This was where both teams were played equally aggressive strategies which forced the ref to produce several yellow cards.
Kyrgyzstan had a second chance in scoring another goal at the 74th minute, but the attempt was foiled by goalie Andritany. Indonesia also had another chance to score their first goal but was thwarted by Kyrgyzstan. Both teams, during the second-half, failed to score and the result 0-1 for Kyrgyzstan lasted until the game ended.
