Tempo News: Finalists Named for 2017 Tempo Start up Competition

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tempo newspaper, in cooperation with incubator Kibar.id and Digitaraya, is holding the 2017 Tempo Start-up Competition to pick 18 most inspiring and potential start-ups. The judging of 40 candidates is held today at Menara Kibar in Central Jakarta.
Tempo earlier trimmed the number of candidates from 83. Some 29 start-ups selected by Tempo, Digitaraya and Kibar on November 20 will be narrowed to 15.
Other 10 will be selected by Tempo and the Deputy for Infrastructure of the Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) from 38 published in the start-up column of Tempo newspaper between January and September. The best three will win the competition.
According to Head of Incubator of Kibar, Octa Ramayana, the team of judges will select start-ups that hold community vision and innovation and have yet to receive capital injections from investors. The judging is based on three categories: Best Social Impact Start-Up, Best Newcomer and Best Suitable Start-Up.
The team of judges comprises of Tempo newspaper editor in chief Budi Setyarso, 8Villages founder Sanny Ghadafi, Digitaraya Vice President Nicole Yap and Wahyu Widodo of news outlet Suara Surabaya. The judging results will be published in extra edition 2017 Tempo Start-Up Competition in December.
